The Reverend Bill Anderson Scholarship is awarded in order to honor Reverend Bill for his many years of service to God in the United Methodist Church, and to acknowledge his love for and commitment to education. Over his wonderfully long life, Reverend Anderson spent time as a teacher and as a school headmaster. He shared many anecdotes about young people discovering a life-changing love for learning and his joy in being a part of their journeys. He served for many years as a Licensed Local Pastor in the United Methodist Church, helping to plant a church in Edisto, and supporting the pastors of Grace United Methodist Church in the work of ministry.

Guidelines for Applicants
- Applicants must be an active member, or immediate family member, of Grace UMC.
- Applicants must use the scholarship to further their education in an accredited educational institution.
- Applicants must complete and submit the application and an essay (of 500-1000 words) describing their goals, accomplishments and interests. They must share the areas of study they are considering and how this scholarship will benefit their education.
