New Paragraph
Confirmation is an important process in people’s journeys of faith. Children/infants who are baptized are entered into a convent with God though the words of their parents/guardians. Confirmation is a thorough study of the faith, where at the completion the youth take responsibility for their baptismal covenant as their own covenant. Any youth who have not been baptized, will be baptized as part of the confirmation service. Confirmation is more than a rite of passage; it is a serious study so youth can make their own profession of faith. While confirmation will be fun, it is to be taken seriously.
This year Grace UMC will offer confirmation classes for all youth who are entering the 6th grade (middle school) or older. There will be 20 sessions meeting on Sunday afternoons from 3 to 4:30 (Youth is from 4:30 to 6:30). The dates will be broken into 10 sessions in 2023 and 10 sessions in 2024. We will avoid every major holiday weekend except President’s Day.
Mark your calendars now! The confirmation service will be on Sunday April 14th.
